The Somerville SomerSlam is a chance for Boston-Metro area to enjoy a competitive and fun weekend of softball in the city!  Pool play for seeding’s will take place Friday and Saturday with a single elimination bracket on Sunday.  All teams are guaranteed 3 pool games and 1 bracket game on Sunday.

Ages: 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U

Somerville Youth Softball 2017 Registration


Divisions are determined by player’s age as of January 1st, 2017.  Players that show advanced defensive and offensive abilities may be encouraged to play in older divisions.

Divisions; Instructional (6 and older; younger players will be assessed), 8U (8 and under), 10U, 12U, 14U

Registration fees cover; costs of umpires, workout facilities, field permits, lights, insurance and equipment.  Registration fees do not include costs of uniforms.  Uniform purchase will range $30 - $40 and will be available online after player assessments in March.

Parent/Guardian must complete registration by completing registration form and waivers.  Forms will be emailed upon completion of your registration.  Forms should be handed in to organizers at SYSO workout facilities at Edgerly; Otis and Cross Streets.  Sunday's from 4-7pm and Friday's from 6:30-8:30pm

Season runs from April 1st - June 30th

Somerville Youth Softball (SYSO) “Learn To Play Softball” introduces the sport of softball to girls ages 6 and older; an hour of FUN and LOTS OF ACTION.  Special concessions will be made for younger players.  Please contact organizers for more information on assessments for player younger than 6 years old.     Activities are included which involve all players, with high and low skill levels.  The player will experience excitement, enjoyment and success; an I CAN approach to playing softball…I CAN Bat, I CAN Field, I CAN Throw, I CAN Run Bases, I CAN Catch.

Players need only to be dressed in fitness clothing.  SYSO will provide all hitting and fielding equipment needed.  Players are welcomed to bring personal equipment.

Due to the size of the facilities, this program is limited to twenty (20) Players.  Register today.

Open to all age divisions

SYSO will be hosting Friday Nite Batting Cages hours for girls to practice hitting.  The Edge training facility will make available stations in which to practice Short Distance Live Pitching, Short Front Toss, Soft Toss and Tee Work.

Friday's from 6:30-7:30pm – 12U and younger divisions


Friday's from 7:30-8:30pm – 14U and older divisions
